The StanGroup MR10 is a recoiler: it winds metal strip back onto a coil, the opposite job of a decoiler. Coil processors place a recoiler at the end of a slitting or processing line so the material leaves the line as a coil again rather than as loose lengths. It is a heavy, fixed industrial unit, listed with the decoilers because it handles coil.

StanGroup’s figures are a maximum coil width of 60″, a maximum outside diameter of 51″, an inside diameter range of 17.7″ to 20.5″ and a maximum coil weight of 10,000 lb. The mandrel is turned by a hydraulic motor at up to 20 rpm, powered by a 10 HP, 220 V three-phase main motor; StanGroup lists the hydraulic motor torque as 1450 but does not state the unit. The machine measures about 142″ x 60″ x 80″ and weighs about 8,000 lb, so it needs a solid floor and rigging to set. StanGroup offers a hydraulic loading cart and a tensioner as options.

It fits at the exit of a line built around the Industrial Gang Metal Slitter, whose 55″ width sits inside the MR10’s 60″. At the entry end, a heavy decoiler such as the Hydraulic decoiler with loading cart 10k lbs completes the setup. Steel Coil and Aluminum Coil are the typical materials.
