About this product
Painted aluminum sheet is flat stock for roofers and sheet metal mechanics who need full-width pieces rather than a coil: chimney and wall flashings, cap and coping covers, column wraps, and short runs of trim laid out and cut on the bench. Because aluminum does not rust, it is a common pick for coastal work and for details where cut edges stay exposed.
Each sheet is 48″ x 120″ (4′ x 10′), listed in .032″, .040″ and .050″. Finish options are PVDF (Kynar 500), SMP, polyester, crinkle and Tedlar film, with colors matching the Aluminum Coil chart, from Regal White and Almond to Dark Bronze, Charcoal Gray and Hartford Green. DuPont rates its Tedlar film, which is laminated to the metal rather than painted on, for buildings within 1,500 feet of the ocean.
Choose sheet when the piece is wider than your coil or when you only need a few flashings; choose Aluminum Coil when you are running long lengths of trim or panels on a brake or roll former. To bend along the full 10′ length you need a brake of 10’6″ or longer, such as the Van Mark Mark II Trim Master or the Metal Master 20 in that size, and the Van Mark SureCut Cutting Table helps with straight cuts.
Finish the job with Black Rivets, Butyl Tape, Geocell sealant and Sherwin-Williams Ready Match Touch Up in the matching color.
